Grimmlei is the Warrior of Light, chosen by Hydaelyn. An underdog orphan from the cold streets of The Brume, Ishgard, it was a shock to her that anyone of her status would ever get trusted with that title. Going from people turning to look away from her to all eyes focusing on her was a big change for her.

Rules & Guidelines

do not force shipping on or with Grimmlei. She already has two ships in two timelines with NPCs and it will remain that way. Sicard in one timeline, and Aymeric and Leofard in another timeline. I have a alt character that I might consider OC/OC AU ships with but will be selective.
do not send creepy or unsolicited messages to Grimmlei. You will be blocked. There will be no erp. this is sfw zone mostly, though there might be flagged nsfw. But just because she poses as a pin up doesn't mean she will partake in erp. Also non-consensual, incest, underage shipping, or harassment is a hard no for me.
do not force head canons on or send disagreements about Grimmlei's lore. That is the beauty of HC, you can come up with your own in your own lore. If we are RPing, we can discuss HC and come to mutual agreements for that AU specifically.
will not interact with writers who are not over 18. So please do not interact if you are under 18. I'm in my 30s and would rather not.

intro New to the world of Role Play. I have no RPed on Grimmlei before or Rped in Final Fantasy 14 before so this will be a new experience for me. Please be patient and if you have any tips or tricks or advice, send it my way. I am willing to learn all things rp related and explore different AUs I can place Grimmlei in.

disclaimer trigger warnings and darker themes, will come up at times. Grimmlei has been through a lot of hardships and trauma. Her lore has a lot of heavier and sensitive themes that could possibly trigger some. I never go in too much detail, but while Grimmlei is not a complete self-insert, she is a way I process trauma and has helped me for the few years I've been world building for her. They aren't romanticized, just real. Some of the topics can be about mental illness, self-harm, suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, sexual assaults, a lot of horror elements as well. I'm willing to work around wordings and mentions if anything is a sensitive topic, most of these are past experiences for her and not current struggles.

credits Grimmlei was created by me, so there is a lot of me and my story in her. But I also took my favorite tropes and characters in a blender and the rest of her came out.

Style Grimmlei loves clothes and accessories. Comfortable for travelling, Victorian goth for when at home in Ishgard. She is a tomboy and very boyish in glamour and attitude. Mostly wears black colors with some white, silver, gray. Gunmetal, and browns and blues. She loves leather, lace, satin, velvet, studs, chains, and many other alternative fabrics and styles. She is always seen in her feather earrings, and almost always with her black floral choker. She prefers skirts over pants and shorts and generally wears skirts, but she will be seen in pants and shorts from time to time. She likes flatter shoes, and combat boots and sneakers.

combat Grimmlei’s combat and fighting style is unorthodox and `unique` to her. Her main class is Dragoon. But she is a quick learner and has picked up on all jobs easily. She mixes some abilities from all classes into her lance and has her own fighting style. She has the quick wittedness to be able to use anything as a weapon and fights defensively as much as she can. She usually tanks and heals with her lance as a hammer and cane, having a magic focus in the little moogle pom so she can cast spells easily. She weaves in lighting magic with her attacks to help stun her opponents.

personality Grimmlei is known for her strong moral compass, emotional and holistic intelligence, sense of duty, and has the makings of a natural leader with strong leadership skills as much as she lets others take charge and follows. She is resilient, quick-witted, hyper independent, can be vulnerable and empathetic, as much as she can be stubborn. Despite what her physical appearance and how she carries herself may have you believe, Grimmlei is always high in spirit and fairly optimistic and very forgiving. She loves travelling, meeting new people and experiencing new things. She is also very affectionate. She was a bit more rambunctious in her youth, but she has become more docile and sweet, having grown out of it. Though sometimes it will shine through when she gets excited. She can be very playful and cheeky with those she trusts and is a little bit of a thrill seeker. She is very curious about how things work and are, that she will find herself in trouble from time to time, but is quick on her feet and will get herself out of it as well. Grimmlei is usually good at what she does and if she isn’t, it’s only because she hasn’t tried it yet. While she believes rules are made for a reason, she has been known to break some of the ones that don’t make sense to her. Grimmlei had a great distaste for nobles and the wealthy up until meeting the Fortemps and being humbled.

Hobbies Grimmlei's has many hobbies and interests. Some include Singing, harmonica, piano, guitar, lute and other guitar style instruments, drums, painting/drawing, sewing, Horror and Mystery literature, spooky things, gardening, baking and cooking, taking care of cats, poetry, bones, exploration, and learning new things. She just wants to learn and do so many things.

appearance Grimmlei is a Midlander Hyur that is short, petite, and slim in stature, not muscular but soft, and as pale as a corpse. She has jet black hair with natural white streaks, usually kept in a partial messy braid, and a pair of odd eyes, one storm blue and one charcoal grey. From a distance they look as black as coal. She has flat eyebrows which make her appear to have a resting sad face, which adds to her gloomy appearance. She looks like the walking definition of melancholy. She has faint freckles over her nose and dimples.

companion Jasper is Grimmlei's trusted griffin companion Able to change to a smaller size or larger size depending on where they are, he is always ready for action. Jasper fights by Grimmlei's side and always there to catch her when she falls. His has a sassy and grumpy demeanor and is known to bite men. He is also very protective of Grimmlei and will lash out at anyone trying to get close to her when she is hurt. It took him a bit to get used to the Scions and the closer circle of Grimmlei's friends.

Grimmlei escaped Ishgard during the calamity. She was still in the institution as the earthquake and blizzard struck and was able to slip out due to some damages caused to the building. She tried to get far on foot but wasn't wearing warm clothing, and it was hard to see. Eventually she fell and couldn't move anymore, getting frostbite on some of her exposed skin. Touching the skin around that part caused the skin to slide off which scared her. She thought she was going to freeze to death, then heard howling from nearby and closed her eyes. This is where Jasper and Grimmlei met, as Jasper swooped in to save her from the wolves. Around then some Temple Knights rounded the corner and Zephirin found Grimmlei barely holding on to life and covered in snow. They treated her wounds and warmed her up, and as soon as she was able, she stole gil from Zephirin and took a run for it, Jasper not too far behind her. She made it to a ship as a stowaway, and from there made it to Limsa Lominsa, where she was saved by Jacke from some traffickers.

Appearance

Grimmlei has long and black hair with white streaks. There is a bit of a blue hue to it. She parts her hair on the side above right eye, and usually has the top half in a braid. This is her go to style, but she just likes braiding her hair and will sometimes change it up.

Grimmlei has collected many scars. Left eyebrow and upper lip have a small cut that go through them. Nose and back of left hand towards knuckles are scared from frostbite, lighting scar down all of back, burn mark on right leg with some nerve damage ⤵

Grimmlei has slender, petite hands. She is usually rocking fresh black nail polish on her nails. She likes to keep her nails shorter due to comfort and preference.

Grimmlei loves tattoos and piercings. A notable tattoo she has is one of a black heart with spikes on her lower back. She also has multiple piercings on her ears, as well as nipple and navel piercing.
